The interplay for flues is between a figuration outlining successive seven chords with a sustained background and a melody taken in the pedal. As 8' stops, the harmonies cluster and make this a sound painting in softer voices and quieter dynamics. The voices are suggested as manuals notated I and II, though the registration skills of the player need not follow these suggestions.
