Fugue in F Locrian  - (2015)

for organ

The subject is stated at the presto, its second half with another voice as counterpoint. The answer is given at the subdominant as its most related harmonic region and then late in other regions. It is presented in canon at various time distances and in two domains at the same time, a feature of the Locrian mode being its happy relationship with the subdominant. Sometimes lengthy episodes break the mood and for a time the submediant major hosts the theme as well.
