Arabesque and Fugue in C sharp - (2023)

A long arpeggio of C sharp minor moves across the wide range of the keyboard, and then to E major and back again to C sharp minor, the interesting relation between tonic minor and mediant major being a part of this work.

 

 

The subject opens with a leap of the major seventh, the fugue theme decorated by the mordant and inverted mordent. As with the opening, the mediant domain is among the other harmonic regions treated.
