Arabesque and Fugue in C - (2023)
for organ
A filigree of C major opens the work with with subsequent gestures to bring in the flat colors. At the presto, the theme is taken up with offbeat punctuation in the pedal, as sequential shifts in harmonies work through their logic.
After some coda-like cadences, the fugue is stated, with repetition within the subject at the fourth. Thereafter, in varying combinations to the subject is combined with itself in counterpoint, through to its culmination.
