Prelude and Fugue in B flat major - (2010)
duple-triple of the opening gestures gives way to a syncopation of duple
rhythm at measure five for two measures. A duet of voices in sixths leads to
the second statement of the theme, as at measure 11 with the voicing
simple fugue subject and subsequent episodic gestures feature written-out
ornamentation, as the subject's answers play out. The first measures of the
prelude mix with a stretto-like coda to bring this short prelude and fugue
to a close.
