On a Moment from Chausson
- (2016)

for harp
The
subtle succession of chords which follows the opening emphasis on the
leading tone in the minor of Ernest Chausson's setting (Sept mélodies, Op.
2, Nº 4) of a text of Théophile Gautier is extended into a meditative
fantasy without words, as this moment from Chausson inspires.

The
succession of chords at measure six and further is expanded with additional
voices and gestures. Light variation follows, with bridge material in the
subdominant major, before a return to the opening and final cadence, again
in the subdominant major.
