On "Yidl mitn fidl" -
Yiddish-language film, Yidl mitn fidl" is said to be the last film made in
Poland before the advance of Germany's National Socialists and the
murderous, depraved destruction of European Jews and Yiddish culture in the few short years of WWII.
The film featured well-known Polish actress, Molly Picon. A song for the
film with the same title was written by Itzak Manger (1902-1969) and
composed by Abraham "Abe" Ellstein (1907-1963).
