"Razbolje se Sultan Sulejmane, aman / Aman patiša / Sedmog dana šehri Ramazana, aman / Aman Ramazana" A sultan dies and longs to return to a special place, often the variable lyrics say "Sarajevo" in Bosnia. Such is the flavor of traditional sevdalinka songs. Due to the mixing of cultures and languages for this area which once was dominated by the Ottoman empire, themes both melodic and lyrical carry their own historical echoes.
