A visit to Deventer and environs on a weekend of business-related concerns brought my wife and I to await a train back to Berlin, sitting and enjoying coffee with chocolate as the snow fell across the public square with its massive "Grote of Lebuinuskerk" dominating other historical buildings. A carol about snowfall suggested a little essay on this moment.
