Fugue in E - (2025)
for organ
A subject is made from the upward leap of a seventh and then downward leap of a ninth, to "circle" the "do." That opening gesture, twice repeated, then is ended with a simple downward gesture and repetition of the opening. From this and with "Rococo" tiered dynamics in registration, the fugue visits the expected dominant domain, but also the more unusual mediant minor. Some freedom via rubato is suggested, in an improvisatorial manner.
