While enjoying the gardens of Potsdam-Sanssoucci on a perfect autumn day, my wife and I happened in to the Friedenskirche on the edge of the garden grounds. The Friedenskirche or Hofkirche boasts a recently installed Woehl organ, the installation allowing view of the rose window, utilizing older ranks as well as new. A DVD about the instrument and some examples played by KMD Matthias Jacob were most interesting. The lighthearted theme of this fugue playing with the second and seventh leap came to me during that visit, and so I dashed it off in the days following as time allowed.
