Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue in E minor - (2017)

for harmonium

Klaus Langer gewidmet

A fantasia based on a four-note motive, lengthened into a fugue subject. The shape of this head motive was inspired by the four note motive which begins Copland's 1930 Piano Variations, though of course the much more chromatic piano work treats the motive in ways not employed in this more tonal work.
