A Meditation of the Heart - (2019)
A simple set
of melodic variations moves between F major and A flat major and back again, with lightly increasing
complexity. The sentiment is drawn, as noted in the score, from the last
verse of Psalm 19, a text known to many within the Judeo-Christian world.
The full verse reads in one translation reads: "May the words of
my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord,
my rock and my redeemer." Suggested
dynamics in score are left intentionally absent, the performer and
instrument suggesting what might ne apt.
