Alfons Petzold ( c. 1882-1923 ) used the pseudonym De Profundis, and the text is taken from Der Ewige und die Stunde - 1. Auflage 1912.

 

A little sunshine every day
On the field of my soul,
Such that on it may grow
My seed for this world.

Plus a faithful hand,
The one which with me pulls the plow
Through the farmland of our lives,
That would be good fortune enough for me.
