Prelude and Fugue in G minor - (2010)
for organ
The quirky flowing gestures on the manuals are undergirded by a simple theme in the pedal, extended and thereby emphasized by repetition.
The fugue subject is built on leaps of the seventh within the harmonic minor, implying thereby a harmonic tension between tonic and dominant. The dominant's answer as at measure 60 enfolds the smaller leaps of thirds, found first "inside" the leaps of the seventh as countersubject. At the final cadence, the theme in the pedals from the prelude is reprised at the cadence in the tonic minor.
