Prelude and Fugue in F sharp major - (2011)
for piano
Major chords adding the diatonic sevenths and then sixths effervesce over a simple melodic line highlighting these scalar tones. Parallel triads of occasional diatonic polytonality act as bridge material in this toccata-like texture.
The fugue subject includes both the major sixth and seventh as part of its reach and structure, a mid point 32nd note decoration contrasting with the leaps of a ninth.
