Prelude and Fugue in D major - (2011)
for piano
The unequal division of 8/8 has provided a source for many modern syncopated musical gestures and works. This particular division, 3/3/2, has become quite settled in a broad repertoire.

The fugue continues the unequal division thematically, using the lover neighbor of the mediant as its clearly announced entrance. A number of tonal regions are suggested in a short dalliance, beyond the normative dominant.
