Prelude and Fugue in B minor - organ

Prelude and Fugue in B minor - (2010)

for organ

The opening motive is a line of trills, descending by half steps, with a second motive of parallel triads moving in the inner voices, as at measure 13.

The fugue subject's head motive includes the major seventh in a tonic minor, the theme extended into an emphasis on the melodic minor's raised sixth and sevenths. Without a countersubject, the fugue subject is accompanied by similar gestures at the tenth. The pedal line, as at measure 65, elongates the tones of the fugue subject.
