Prelude and Fugue in B major - (2011) ![](images/01_Little_Green_Dot.gif)
for piano
The prelude's meter is 7/8, with the groupings varying with gestures from what can be thought of as 2-2-2-1 (2-2-3) and then 3-2-2. The opening unison spreads out in both directions as a head motive for the phrases to follow. Filigree follows, delicato and sustained in a blur by the pedal.

The fugue subject is a variant of the opening phrase of the prelude, elongated into a five measure statement before the answer is given at the dominant. The short fugue balances against the longer prelude for its complexity is greater.
