Partita for Harpsichord  - (2019)

The work is predicated on a classic, five octave instrument, F to f. An opening section awakens the work with a percussive gesture, followed by a contrapuntal treatment of a theme.

A contrasting section is lyrical with sustained gestures, for a single 8 foot voice.

A next section offers another contrapuntal treatment on another theme, in the manner of two part inventions. Both 8 foot voices return.

A next section again for a single 8 foot voice as contrast mixes gestures from the preceding sections, adapted to this section.

A final section seems to open in C major, but turns to a fugue in A minor, with which the work ends.
