On a lily's succession - (2018)   

 

During this end of the year and years' time, tending to many varied challenges in life and its successions, a small harmonic succession -- in Schoenberg's distinction thereto -- came to my attention, and so a diminutive essay for piano was conceived.

 

 

This essay makes three little variants on a harmonic succession, with musical and extramusical references to the lily, Lili and lilies in the gardens of such cut lilies.
