On Contrapunctus IV - (2012)
an essay for piano
A second essay based on the fugues draws its subject from Contrapunctus IV, with the original statement in the bottom voice beginning at measure 9. For this study an introduction begins the essay, after which the use of octaves and fifths is much like the stops of an organ registration adding harmonics to a single note and thus explaining the parallelism.
