Chyorny voron -- Черный ворон in the Cyrillicand from the early 1800s -- is said to be a 'Cossack' song, "Now I feel death come," sings to a hovering bird asking that news of this soldier's death be carried home to family, "oh black raven, I am yours, to you I fall."
