Fugue for Fives - (2013)
for piano
The lovely and limping irregularity of five as a meter is usually broken into 3+2. The fugue subject is a set of fifths, upper and lower, within the tonality of E minor. A number of little stretto moments occur in changing tonal regions for added development and the work creates a large arch from pianissimo to and final pianissimo.
