A Fugue on What Sam Sung - (2019)

After cataract surgery, antibiotic drops were prescribed every two hours. What better way to be regularly reminded than set an alarm? And so, my wife set her Samsung phone with an alarm singing something quite like the head motive for this little humorous fugue. Even while strolling this autumn day in the gardens of the Schloss Charlottenburg, the little musical alarm sang from my jacket's pocket. Additionally, in the recuperation, many episodes of the series, "Upstairs Downstairs" filled hours not spent otherwise reading or working at a computer monitor. Musical materials in both and titled with word play, a little exercise in bringing these together into a little fugue seemed quite apt for an autumn afternoon. Ergo....
